Why do we use Conditioner?

Here at Muddy Pawz we want to highlight what sets us apart from other Grooming Establishments.
One of the things we do is include a high quality conditioner with EVERY pet we bathe. We don’t feel this is something that should be ‘optional’ (Or an extra fee).
Every pet has one reason or another that they will benefit from a combination of a deep cleansing Shampoo, immediately followed by a quality coat Conditioner.

Repairs and adds moisture to Skin & Coat-
Anytime a pet is bathed, it does remove the natural oils that have accumulated on the skin and coat. Once shampooed, a pets coat can sometimes feel dry and brittle. A conditioner helps to temporarily replace those oils until they can be naturally dispersed. It also helps repair and nourish damaged hair follicles and dry skin.

Natural Shine/Softness-
Everyone knows a clean and shiny pet is something to look forward to. A shiny/glossy coat is a sign of healthy hair. Our conditioning products do NOT leave a sticky residue. They leave your pet feeling so soft, you’ll want to pet them all day!
A shiny and healthy coat also acts as a natural dirt repellant. This means a cleaner pup between grooming visits.

Assists in De-Shedding or Detangling-
Science has given us a variety of different conditioning products for all the different coat types we encounter. Each pets coat has different needs. Our knowledgeable staff can make an educated decision as to what will work best for your pet. They can also make recommendations if you are looking for a ‘Leave-in’ product to use at home between grooming visits.
Some of our products are specifically meant to nourish silky hair and make it more manageable- this gives us a better change at brushing out tangles in the salon, as well as for you at home.
One of our favorite products is used in our “Please Shed-Less” Upgrade. This conditioner helps open up hair follicles to let the shedding hair fly. We’ll definitely write a specific post about our “Please Shed-Less” Upgrade at a later date!

Haircut Quality-
Utilizing a conditioner helps us achieve a higher quality finished haircut. Happy and Healthy skin and coat leaves the coat finishing smoother. It allows the coat to lift and cooperate with the brushing and hair trimming.
